I've been off for a while

I just wanted to give a little update since I haven't been posting much lately. School has really kept me bogged down for the month of May. Now that my writing classes are over, I am hoping to really get back in the swing of things.

My 2nd official that I adopted last year, comes home this month. He can't tell me when, all I know is sometime this month he will call me to tell me he is home! Believe me, I have grilled him about this but he can't tell me their leave date because of security. I understand and I definitely don't want him to say anything that could possibly jeopordize their safety. He still chats with me online, so I know he is still there. I can't wait for the couple of days in a row that he is not online cuz then I will know he is on his way. Then it won't be long after that, that I get my phone call from him!!!

Our adopted brother, Ryan, e-mailed me today. He apologized for not writing but he got in trouble for mouthing off to the person in charge of the computers and he was banned from using the computers for a couple of days. I almost wrote him back to give him a hard time about it but I didn't. I know his computer time is important to him because that is his outlet sometimes. To surprise him, I am going to send him a special homemade batch of white chocolate chip cookies this week. He really loves those.

My newest official, I have to say, I have not talked to him in a while. I feel so bad that I haven't had time to send him a package lately. When I went out today, I got him a few things that he mentioned that he would like to have. I have to pick up a few more things but I plan on doing that tomorrow and getting his package out to him this week.

And, finally, an update on my 21 yo unofficial that couldn't be home for his daughter's birth. His daughter was born on Mother's day. Mom and baby are doing good. He sent me some pictures of his new little girl and she is adorable. He is getting a 4 day pass soon to Qatar (I hope that's how it is spelled). I am trying to find him a inexpensive digital camera to send to him before he goes. I hope I find one soon cuz I am running out of time to get it to him. He still gives me a hard time everytime we talk. He told me today that he will stop the sarcasm and I told him "DON'T YOU DARE!!!" It's funny how when my soldiers don't pick on me, I think I did something to upset them. He has already told me several times that when he gets home in November, him and his family are going to come to meet me and my family. He is becoming more and more like a brother to me everytime we talk.

Oh, one other update... I bought a motorcycle yesterday! I finally decided it was time to do something really fun. I have talked about learning to drive a motorcycle, so my hubby and I finally went out yesterday and got one. It is a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 500r and it is candy apple red. I am learning to ride it and already have the battle scars to show for it. Yes, unfortunately, I dropped it yesterday and I landed directly on my knee. It really hurts when you hit the pavement but I am ok. Since then, I have gotten back on it and am taking it slow. Speaking getting back on it, I need to go practice some more before I start on dinner. I will try and post some pics of my "crotch rocket" later :-)
